Providing Support for the Internationalization of Companies

These days, most companies cannot afford to neglect the issue of internationalization of business activities. We know from experience that very specific challenges are associated with this issue.

OSB has dealt comprehensively with the topic of internationalization for many years, in both its research and its consulting activities. Our consulting services for internationalization issues are thus provided from the core range of our portfolio:

  • Strategic and market development
  • Identification and development of new growth potentials; market entry strategies for different regions; utilizing the international division of labor and the dynamics of change for one’s own company; coordinating global strategies with regional strategies, etc.
  • Configuration of cooperation and management structures (organizational issues)
  • Dealing with the tension between regional market proximity/decentralized activities and central management needs; post merger processes in international takeovers, with consideration of cultural differences; optimization of international core processes (for example, production strategies, purchasing, R&D), etc.
  • International HR management
  • HR support services such as performance management systems and compensation models, talent management, recruiting, transfers, expat/impat support, retention models
  • Internal HR organization, e.g. organization of business partners, creation of autonomous network and community structures (HR councils), management of international HR teams, etc.
  • Developing management competence (incl. international learning architectures)
  • Promoting a common language, way of thinking, and leadership culture within the management system, e.g. by means of corporate universities, implementation of strategy-based international leadership and management development programs with business-oriented learning architectures; requirement profiles of internationally active managers; support for multinational management teams

At the same time, we take into account the intercultural aspects and their significance in terms of the particular business topic. Here too, appropriate formats are at our disposal for handling each project (see below).

We utilize our cooperation with strategic partners such as the Management Center Witten (MZW) as a cross-company academic platform on which we, in collaboration with renowned international experts, develop innovative perspectives and practical know-how for the internationalization process.

In major economic regions, we also establish network partnerships with consultants at the particular location. This allows us to reflect the multicultural nature of multinational projects within the consulting team itself.
